Hi there, I did posted this message in the MS forums yesterday but
didn't get back a response. I hope this group is more active. Thanks
in advance

I can confirm - this piece of code does reliably crash the compiler =
(32-bit VC2005 here).

The reason no one has responded is probably because there's not much =
anyone can do to help you. You could submit a bug report at =
http://connect.microsoft.com/ - but only if the problem is still =
reproducible in VC2008 or higher (feedback for earlier versions is no =
longer accepted).

If the problem is a showstopper for you, you can contact MS support at

http://support.microsoft.com/select/default.aspx?target=assistance

Normally, you would be charged for a support incident, but IIRC the fee =
is waived if the problem turns out to be a bug in a Microsoft product =
(which is pretty clearly the case here) - at least that was the case a =
few years ago (don't sue me if you end up paying after all).

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not =
necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to =
land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. =
