How do we know that it's a typedef? Nowhere in the C++ standard it is
said that
it's a typedef.

The standard says that it is a type that is defined in the standard header
<cstddef> (see 5.3.3/6 and 18.1). I don't know if this information is enough
to allow us to conclude that it is a typedef.
