I don't know what you need it for, but you can actually trigger builds via
the commandline. Something like

   devenv.exe /build path\to\project.vcproj

Could you please point me to that option as well, please? (This is so
frustrating... Up to VC++6 they had a very good MSDN library coming with
VS. But then they lost it.)


Hmmm, in ye good olde times newsclients also knew how to snip signatures and
people didn't top-post in Usenet. However, nowadays, using the search
option at MSDN's, I actually still manage to find the stuff I need. It is a
bit complicated by the fact that the documentation must cater for several
operating systems, in particular the desktop and CE variants often differ,
but the information at least is present.
