Re: Java applet - Read data from text file

Hi, as part of a Java Applet I'm working on, I need to read some data
from a text file when the applet first runs. The text file
(questions.txt) is stored on the same server as the applet and is
stored in the same directory. Looking around on the internet, I saw
that the recommended way of doing this was the following:

URL dataStream = new URL(this.getCodeBase(), "questions.txt");
            BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader
(dataStream.openStream()));

Another option used this.getDocumentBase(). Both of this options work
on the web server on my computer (running Apache 2.2.11), but when I
upload it to another server (I've tried my webspace on my university's
server as well as Angelfire, since I couldn't think of any other place
to try) the applet refuses to run (It's just blank; no error messages
are given).

Is it possible that this issue is caused by the way those servers are
set up, or is there another way I should be loading the data?
