Collections came in with JDK 1.2 did they not?

WTF? Oh, I get it. Were you referring to the addition of generics to coll=
ections, the addition of concurrent collections, the introduction of new ty=
pes like 'java.util.Queue' (and even more with Java 6) and such? Those wer=
e, indeed, significant improvements to the collections framework that came =
in with Java 5 (and even more with Java 6).

Java programmers should keep a very close eye on the collections types with=
each new Java version. They are the backbone and scaffolding on which goo=
d programs are written, and knowledge thereof pays huge dividends.

Instead of getting mad at Roedy and calling him names for misunderstanding =
your sketchy and misleading post, you should take responsibility and give t=
he details that make your intent clear.
