As for why anyone would post to Usenet while intoxicated, be it legal, illegal
or organic brain damage, it's an obvious mystery, but no less mysterious at
heart for that. Evidence shows that once a human learns to talk, nothing will
shut them up. Even brain damage that impacts the speech centers doesn't end
linguistic activity, or if it does it's the last to go. The fact that email,
Youtube and instant messaging are killer apps shows how valuable conversation
is to the human psyche. For geeks, Usenet is a venue for conversation. For
intoxicated or insane geeks, perhaps even more so.
