Hi, I have a question about modal dialogs.

Do you? Where is it? I scanned that entire
text but failed to find your question.

This seem to prohibit me from passing back to MainGUI any information
on things I did in SubGUI.

(taking a wild stab that your question might be
'how do I pass information from a dialog back the
main GUI?'

GUI elements of the dialog can be queried after it is closed.
I trimmed your code snippets above, but if you provide an
SSCCE, I might show specifically how to do that.

I'm learning Java, so I may be mistaken in a number of things I asy/
ask. Sorry.

(ugghh.. can we drop the 'preemptive apologies' from
here on in? I would prefer a 'best effort' to ask a smart
question, with a mature attitude to criticism - if it should
ever be cast.)

Ancilliary question.

Best asked an an 'ancillary thread' with an appropriate title.
Something like 'adding jars to netbeans project' will probably
attract the atention of those who could be bothered instructing
people how to use their own IDE's (I couldn't).
