I do not understand why the KlachtService.java in package service
could not be found. The class does exist in the indicated package and
as far as i understand is correctly defined in the
applicationContext.xml.

Perhaps it was not compiled properly? Or perhaps it is a problem with
KlatchService.java (which you have not posted)
The other possibility is that you might not have set the class path
correctly.
Check your webapp directory to make sure that it contains your .class
files (or a .jar file will your .class files) in the appropriate structure.
