Actully UpdateData() with a TRUE parameter will set the variable of
m_bSaveAndValidate;

To get data from the controls we need to make it true else
false(initialise).

under what conditions this should not be used.
This is interesting and will be gr8 if you throw more light on this.

In any case, you should not be using GetDlgItemText. Create a control variable for the
control (and learn to replace those silly names like IDC_EDIT1 with meaningful names), and
use GetWindowText, e.g.,
c_Name.GetWindowText(String1);
