I use Visual C++ 4.2 Professional and I am developing an application with a
CPropertySheet as the main window and 6 CPropertyPages as the sub window.

In each CPropertyPage there is a CListCtrl in a Report view style and a
Button.

My question is:
1. If the selection / focus is on one of the CListCtrl item and user press
the Return key, then it must open a new modal dialog to show the content
of
items. Or if I double-click on the item or I click the Button with focus
on
the CListCtrl, it will open a new modal dialog showing the content of the
item.

How to do that?

I have tried the LVN_KEYDOWN and the NM_RETURN, but when I test the
application and I press Return, it still quitting application, executing
the
Window CDialog::OnOk().

Here is my code:
void CKKCDlg::OnKeydownKKCList(NMHDR* pNMHDR, LRESULT* pResult)
{
LV_KEYDOWN* pLVKeyDow = (LV_KEYDOWN*)pNMHDR;

               // TODO
if ( pLVKeyDow->wVKey == VK_RETURN )
               {
OnbtnKKCClicked();
}
*pResult = 0;
}

What is wrong or is there something missing in above code?
If I must use the PreTranslateMessage, can you please tell me where I
should
put the code since I use CPropertyPages and CPropertySheet?

I look forward to hear from you soon.

Thank you very much.

To handle double-clicking the item in the list, add an item to the message
map of the property page:

     ON_NOTIFY(NM_DBLCLK, IDC_MY_LISTCONTROL, OnDblclkListControl)

And because double-clicking the list control is the same as clicking the
button:

    void CMyPropertyPage::OnDblclkListControl(NMHDR* pNMHDR, LRESULT*
pResult)
    {
         OnButtonEdit();
         *pResult = 0;
    }

The Edit button has a message map entry:

     ON_BN_CLICKED(IDC_BUTTON_EDIT, OnButtonEdit)

    BOOL CPageRules::OnButtonEdit()
    {
            // Show your other dialog here
    }

To make the Return key press the Edit button (and not the OK button that
closes the dialog) you would normally make sure the Edit button is the
default button (this is a property you can specify in the dialog editor).
But because it is in a property sheet, I'm not exactly sure if you can set
the default button to a child of the property page (or if the default button
needs to be a button in the property sheet).
