Hi Edward,

Based on the description, the problem is you cannot use the find the
AssertValid()'s definition in your sample code, because of the 'Go to
definition' option has been disabled while you debug a upgraded VS2003 MFC
project in VS2005 IDE. Please correct me if I misunderstood anything.

I tested an simple VS2003 MFC application, upgraded it to VS2005, and set a
breakpoint in CDocument::AssertValid(). It works well on my side, I can use
the 'Go to definition' option in the AssertValid function while debugging
the upgraded project.

So I think there may be some problem to your upgraded project, does this
problem happen to any other MFC projects? I suggest you can delete that
project's intellisense database file(projname.ncb), and let the VS2005 IDE
to generate it again.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Gary Chang
