I'm glad that worked out for you. Don't forget to download the SP1 release
of the software to complete your installation (unless you were able to do
that with the trial)

Actually, there is a way. I decided to install the paid version over
the trial
version. The installation wizard detected the trial installation and
gave an
extra 4th option to upgrade (in addition to the expected options like
update the current, uninstall it, etc). All I had to do was to input
the
product key of the paid version and it took 30 secs to complete the
whole process.

However, there is a kink here. The product key on the CD jacket for
VS2005 Pro was misplaced. It was *NOT* accepted by the installation
wizard.

Then I noticed one extra CD for SQL Server, also with its
own product key. I decided to enter it instead and it worked.
As it turns out the product keys were switched. Probably, the
packaging people at the factory put the CDs in the wrong jackets
with switched product keys.
