Re: Another VS 2005 question
Hi Harald,
I agree and I've only had this problem since installing SP1 (which, of
course you'd need on Vista). I'm not sure why they changed it. It has
certainly caused me a lot of recompiles over the last few weeks since
updating.
I'm glad Ajay pointed out the articles. Of course, both of those articles
were written before SP1 came out so I don't think I'm referencing the same
problem. Still, they were interesting reads, but I've only had these
problems since I started using SP1.

So, if I want to distribute my application, I should always distribute a
copy of vcredist_x86.exe as well? In VC++ 6 I didn't have to do this. I
guess you can tell that kinda new.to this...
VC6 was a different animal. MSFT did provide an executable to install
libraries but if you shipped the dependent dlls in the same folder, you
got
away with it. With VS2005, it has all changed. Read the following:

Thank you, Ajay,
It is amazing to me (and a little frustrating) how easy it was with VC++ 6
and how complicated it now is with VS 2005. Anyway, it is only frustrating
to me because I am not a programmer. But the article links helped. Thank
you.
