Re: Seeing VERSIONINFO under Vista?
I just delete the MFC code in the main app file then add in my own files and
include the header in the mainapp.h. Takes about a minute or so. Of
course, I don't create "new" applications all that often. If I were in a
teaching situation or something where this had to be done a lot I may be a
bit more annoyed.

This is a lot easier if the About class weren't generated as part of the
CWinApp-derived
file. I have complained about this for twelve years now: Microsoft has a
standard for the
About box, but MFC doesn't generate their standard About box, nor does it
make it easy to
simply replug a standard about.cpp/about.h file into a project, or use an
about.dll, all
of which should be trivial. Instead, we have to do a lot of unnecessary
editing to
accomplish what any sensible programmer would have designed as a trivial
change.
But such an improvement takes a back seat to the project of the systematic
destruction of
the usability of the IDE. Go figure.
