The vast majority of images are in your EXE image. I guess there are a
couple of little arrows and stuff and, to be honest, I don't know if those
are drawn or stored as bitmaps.

So I can't really answer your question definitively. I'm not really aware of
any special libraries but have just avoided that whole issue myself by
linking statically.

When I build my applications, I prefer to statically link with MFC.
Although
this makes my EXE image larger, it simplifies distribution. In the case of
the feature pack, the EXE file is all that is needed to run on most newer
versions of Windows.

Static linking is not working in my app as I have some libs whose
configuration doesn't allow me to do so (redefinition errors).
Do you think just putting in MFC 9.0.30411 (mfc90.dll) besides my app
should be good enough?
Where does the Robbon Toolbar get its images? Are they resources in
the DLL? Or some place else?
