Hi David,
It's useful for testing and developing, at least. I could also see it
being useful for a sales person or someone who works with people in more
than one language.
I just checked my Windows XP install and I don't have that drop down on my
Languages tab. Perhaps it only shows up if you have the MUI's installed.
Oh, I change these all the time for testing! You know, I don't have that
combobox either! You're right... the link Mihai gave:
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/handson/dev/winxpintl.mspx
says:
* Change the MUI language, if running on an MUI system.
And since the MUI's are only available to Volume License customers, I think
we're screwed. In Vista, I'm pretty sure the MUI's are what are only
available in Vista Ultimate.
One thing I'm not clear on is when would someone want a MUI and when is a
Language Pack good enough?
