happy also with MFC CString, CArray and CMap).

The issue is that this group is really here (as far as I can tell) to
discuss use of the C++ specific parts of the C++ Standard Library with
VC++. The "STL" is something slightly different:
a) A C++ template library initially developed by Stepanov and others at
HP and later taken up by SGI. It consists of iterators, algorithms,
containers and functors. See http://www.sgi.com/tech/stl/
b) A colloquial name for the iterators, algorithms, containers and
functors part of the C++ Standard Library, so named because the STL was
used as the basis for this part of the C++ Standard Library. E.g.
"Effective STL" by Scott Meyers refers to this.

This group should perhaps be named microsoft.public.vc.sl. It is
definitely not limited to b) above, since that would eliminate
std::string and iostreams from the discussion, among other things.

This rather pedantic issue seems to come up here quite often I'm afraid.
