Someone pops up and says MFC is dead about every 6 months or so and it never
seems to die. I think the first thread I saw about this was about 2 years
after it came out and someone had invented a RAD programming environment
that others though would kill MFC. It's still here all these many years
later and I can't even remember the name of the RAD tool.

Well if that's the case then MFC will be dead (again) in a few years,
except for legacy code.
Don't get me wrong, I really like MFC. I only wish MSFT were more
committed to it.

What about other enhancements to MFC outside the new GUI controls?

I dont think there is going to be anything other than this GUI stuff and
its co-existence with .Net for developers using CLI, mainly WPF.
