Hi Jeff,

I've seen thread subjects change based on "drift" before, but lots of times
people will put something like:

New thread subject (used to be: Old thread subject)

so that others can relate to it. When I use the newsgroup reader (Windows
Mail) I typically only look at new messages (don't display all messages that
I've already read through) so I typically look for something that I remember
having responded to before. I also find it handy to see the "Re: Subject of
message" so that I know that what I am reading is a response to a question
rather than the original post. I know it's just a preference, but there is
lots of stuff to weed through here and that helps me out a lot. I think it
be fair to change the subject if the response really goes off topic.
