Hi Jeff,

I've seen thread subjects change based on "drift" before, but lots of
times people will put something like:

New thread subject (used to be: Old thread subject)

so that others can relate to it. When I use the newsgroup reader (Windows
Mail) I typically only look at new messages (don't display all messages
that I've already read through) so I typically look for something that I
remember having responded to before. I also find it handy to see the "Re:
Subject of message" so that I know that what I am reading is a response to
a question rather than the original post. I know it's just a preference,
but there is lots of stuff to weed through here and that helps me out a
lot. I think it be fair to change the subject if the response really goes
off topic.

(meant as harmless fun, Jeff)

I think Jeff forgets that subject lines are meant for people as well as
newsreading software. But that's natural, because Jeff acts he is a
computer. I mean, only a computer could think in terms of those crazy code
snippets he keeps posting.

Threads drift, so those of us who are smart enough to see the thread
would rather see a title that's relevant to the body of the post.
